Meet the Owner

About Michael Hester

Michael Hester is the owner and lead designer of Michael Todd Designs, bringing together decades of hands-on remodeling experience with a background in film production and interior design.

Raised in the remodeling industry, Michael began working in his parents’ construction and remodeling company, founded in 1978, where he gained deep, practical knowledge of craftsmanship, materials, and project execution. He continued working with the family business until 2018, when his parents retired.

In 2001, Michael launched Michael Todd Designs to collaborate alongside his father’s company, blending traditional remodeling expertise with a more creative, design-forward approach.

Michael studied film production and interior design in Orlando, Florida, a combination that sharpened his eye for composition, lighting, spatial flow, and storytelling through space. His creative background includes experience working within the film industry on projects associated with Universal and MGM Studios, alongside running his own interior design practice.

Today, Michael brings this unique blend of construction knowledge, cinematic perspective, and interior design expertise to every project, creating spaces that are not only beautifully designed, but thoughtfully built and lived in.
